pasteurization: The process of heating beer to destroy any bacteria or other living organisms that exist in the beer.

pitching: The process of adding yeast to wort during fermentation.

priming: The process of adding sugar to the beer before bottling to add to the beer’s carbonation.

skunking: The event in which light damages and spoils beer, rendering it undrinkable.

sparge: Spraying the grist with hot water at the end of the mash.
